TREPHINE MD Trephine MD [CD]

Description
Baltimore's now defunct TREPHINE MD amalgamates metal-prog-jazz-punk-experimental-noise-math rock to create it's own brand of "surgical doom." Like a one-way roller coaster ride straight from the depths of hell to the inner sancum of a looney bin, or "Jack the Ripper on acid strapped in a chair watching a slo-motion train wreck while trying to physically manage an exploding cosmos." TREPHINE MD has been described by listeners among other things, "a cross between Old Yes and the Melvins," "the mute love child of Slayer and Skeleton Key," and "what disco would sound like if being played by Carcass." Following two self-released EPs, Public Guilt Records released TREPHINE MD's self-titled debut full-length in May of 2005. Recorded at TVR sudios with longtime friend and sonic guru, Jon Smulyan, Trephine also enlisted the visual artistry of Stephen Kasner, and the Mastering abilities of West Side Music's Alan Douches to help make it the band's strongest material.
